// OWNED — STEAM: OWN EVERYTHING. OWE NOTHING.
<Overview />
An integrated thesis campaign for Steam that turns its permanent ownership model into a cultural stance against subscription fatigue. OWNED takes former platform exclusives — characters once locked to PlayStation and Xbox — and shows them permanently held in Steam's collection. The platforms have rotated their loyalty programs, dropped their walled-garden bets, and started licensing out their crown jewels. Steam never had to. The games you bought a decade ago are still right there in your library — and the icons leaving rival platforms aren't going anywhere either. They aren't going anywhere. They belong to you now.
<The Challenge />
Steam's ownership model is its quietest competitive advantage — players know it on instinct but the brand has never actually said it out loud. The challenge was turning a default into a position: making "you keep what you buy" feel like a flag in the ground at a moment when subscription services are quietly retiring titles, raising prices, and revoking access. The campaign had to weaponise nostalgia and cultural capital — putting once-exclusive characters in cages, case files, and tonal black-on-black merch — without ever sounding sneering or anti-fan. Own everything. Owe nothing.
